GroovinMegzz has a niche for making learning FUN! In this workshop we will be covering the basics of hoop dance. Moves covered: hooping on the body, using our hands for off body hooping, isolations, paddling and breaks. We will begin by paddling concepts which is helping the current moving along, speeding up the rhythm. Next we will explore Working with rhythmic breaking techniques that stop the current. Combining the two provides percussion-like meditation in your hoop dance practice. We will cover pinch breaks, waist, shoulders, knees, and toe breaks! . Basic trick sequences will be taught at the end of the workshop! Students will walk away feeling confident in beginning their hoop dance journey.

“The Hooping Body” is about embracing the fact that we are athletes of the circle. It’s a practice that requires time and dedication to our bodies! My goal is to inspire all Hoop Dancers to work on their physical conditioning outside of the hoop by strengthening and focusing on flexibility and in turn feel the benefits of this inside the hoop.
