Festivals are a place of wonder and discovery for people of all ages, where anything is possible and community and creativity thrive. Tea for Two is designed with exactly these concepts in mind. A marriage between the Disneyland Teacup ride and a children’s sit-and-spin toy, Tea for Two invites the festival goer to play and feel like a kid again. Designed to accommodate two people at a time, the padded vinyl interior of the cup provides an intimate space where people are asked to work together to operate the wheel, engaging the spinning mechanism. Two oversized sugar cubes lie on a perimeter surrounding the piece, serving as both a waiting place and the housing for the sculptures lights. Tea for Two serves as a place for friends and strangers alike to laugh, play, and revel in the simple joy of going everywhere and no where at the same time.
